Morningside

Small town feel with all the amenities of living in a big city.

Welcome to Edina-Morningside

Morningside is a geographically and architecturally distinct neighborhood in the city of Edina. Morningside is an old streetcar suburb adjoining the Linden Hills neighborhood of the city of Minneapolis.Though the neighborhood is part of Edina, part of its distinction is the independent nature of this area that has roughly 750 homes. That independence is created in part by the cohesive relationships within the neighborhood that are developed through many event and organizations that are endemic to the neighborhood. The area has an active Neighborhood Association that provides for a voice at City Hall to look after the unique needs and values of Morningside.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The walkability of the Edina-Morningside neighborhood allows for many fabulous options. For starters, you’ll find Old Southern BBQ, a quick-serve neighborhood BBQ Joint! All of their meats are smoked fresh daily, sauces, sides, and everything in between are made from scratch and served fresh. If you are looking for award winning Szechuan and Mandarin cuisine, walk no further than Great Wall Restaurant, the local favorite. Shop Bean & Ro personalized gifts or browse Serge & Jane to find apparel, accessories, new & used vinyl and local makers. Hello Pizza is inspired by the ubiquitous New York slice shop, with the same attention to craft, ingredients, and grease, that place a classic New York slice in a category of pizza all its own.

To prep for that morning run around Lake Harriet or the neighborhood, stop in at family-owned GEAR Running Store to score the best apparel and footwear. Make sure your hair looks perfect at Dick’s Sports Barbers.
